Percussions are the heartbeat of Africa, and can be heard around the world. This is an album dedicated to the contemporary side of percussion, with a strong, respectful nod to traditions, with a bold, warm feel, between build-ups and suspended atmospheres. At times dynamic and tense, at others, peaceful and relaxed, with dripping, dangling or light percs, occasional traditional male or female vocals, subtle repetitive patterns, aerial sax, hovering bluesy guitar highlights, subtle bassline motifs, shimmering pads, and evocative ethnic flutes. These particular tracks, which draw inspiration from African folk themes as well as other traditional circles, offer wonderful backdrops for trance or meditative states, travel and cultural documentaries, meditation, mindfulness, wellness, worldly journeys, and global adventures driven by open minds.
