Philippe Vandal — Static Projectile
Strange sound creatures inhabit Philippe Vandal’s new album. As the prolific composer of two albums since the beginning of his career in 2010, he has created for the Superpitch label a collection of seventeen tracks halfway between introspective ambient climates, digital textures of electronica, sound innovations of musique concrete and deconstructed electronic beats.
A rich and immersive universe, reminiscent of Four Tet, Ben Frost or pioneer Bernard Parmegiani, conceived by the young Canadian composer as the imaginary soundtrack of a documentary flirting with fantasy or science fiction.
